Cookies and Cream Cookies

Who doesn’t like cookies and cream? I think it’s one of my favorite ice cream flavors and while Oreos aren’t a super popular treat in this household – treats that incorporate oreos are. I’ve bookmarked a few cookies and cream themed treats in the past, but I think the thing that got me to make this cookie was the addition of pudding mix to the cookies. I think it gives the cookies a little something extra and makes them creamy. Perfect for a cookies and cream cookie!

These cookies are on the sweet side – which isn’t a problem for me. I have a sweet tooth! I am glad I kept the size of the cookie small. I’m also not usually a fan of white chocolate – but the cookies and cream candy bars also have bits of chocolate cookie in it which I think helps, and I think the white chocolate actually contributes to the creaminess of the cookie.

Recipe (From Taste and Tell)

  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4.2 oz Cookies and Cream pudding mix (I couldn’t find this so I used vanilla)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 10 crushed Oreo cookies
  • 5 oz Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme chocolate bars chopped

Heat oven to 350F. Cream the butter and both sugars. Then add the eggs and vanilla and mix to combine. Then add in the pudding mix, baking soda, flour and salt. Once those are mixed in fold in the crushed oreos and chopped candy bar.

Drop dough in 1 Tbsp sized balls and bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom of the cookie.
