And We're Back

Hi everyone, we’ve been super busy with work, etc and the blog often got pushed to the bottom of our to do list and eventually we lost track of it. Well, we’ve continued to cook – it’s my hobby after all, and Matt has continued to take picture of everything I make – it’s kinda what he does now. So we thought we would do a quick “catch up” post just to show you a few of the things we’ve been up to lately!

We made pickles again for my sister’s going away party. It was a good way to use some of the dill going crazy in the garden. We cut back a bit on the garlic and chili flakes from the recipe we previously posted and I think that helped.

We made these chocolate chip oatmeal cupcakes with cinnamon sugared chip frosting. The cupcakes were good – kinda like a big oatmeal cookie base, but the frosting was AMAZING! I need to find a way to incorporate cinnamon chocolate chip frosting into something else!

Maybe we could sandwich that frosting into some whoopie pies someday? We made these chocolate peanut butter whoopie pies out of the Martha Stewart’s Cookies Book. I think this cookbook is my most used cookbook out of my library… well I make a TON of baked good – so I guess it’s no surprise!

We also had a return of the Amanda Salad! We made it for a Mother’s Day Cookout while we were in Boston. It was a ton of fun to share one of my recipes with Matt’s family and to try out his parent’s new kitchen! This one is GREAT for summer potlucks as it is an easy vinaigrette based pasta salad and super tasty!

We’ve also been making some of our own made up recipes. This one didn’t make it onto the blog – pasta with peas and bacon. But I have another one Matt and I came up with that we’ve had three times in the last week – stay tuned for more!
