Brownie Cookies

This was a recipe my Mom started to make when one of her co-workers requested a chocolate cookie for a special occasion. I love how dense they are. They really remind me of a brownie in cookie form, so I renamed the cookies… It finally started to snow last week and we met our next door neighbor when he finished snowblowing our driveway for us. It was such a treat that we got to sleep in a little the next morning so I thought the next door neighbors deserved a treat so I made these cookies for them!

Recipe (From Hershey’s

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350F. Cream the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together. Add in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Once worked together, mix in the chocolate chips. Drop onto cookie sheet as rounded tablespoonfuls and bake for 8-10 minutes. Wait a minute or so until cooled enough that they won’t break when removed from the baking sheet. I got a little over 4 dozen cookies out of this recipe.
